I have always been an animal person but I grew up with dogs. That is why they are very special to me.  My mom told me that I used to share a bowl of dog food with a German Shepherd when I was just a toddler. (Yikes!)

At a very young age, I developed an understanding of what a dog needs. The fact that I have never had a moment in my life without having a dog around really helped. At one point, I even had a pack of SEVEN English Cocker Spaniels!

When I decided to become a certified professional dog trainer (CPDT) in 2008, {from the International Academy of Canine Trainers which is registered with the Private Career Training Institutions Agency of British Columbia (PCTIA)},  I always dreamed of starting a business involving dogs. What is better than waking up every morning knowing that I will be surrounded by a pack of dogs. That is why I jumped at the opportunity when I heard that Paws to Play was looking for a new owner.

I believe that a dog should play freely with a pack of dogs in order to sharpen their social skills, learn appropriate manners, and have fun doing it. We, as pack leaders, can learn a lot from our dogs and see how we can help to improve their well being.  If this sounds familiar, you’ve guessed right, I’m a big fan of Ceasar Milan.

At the moment, my wife and I have two dogs. “Kahlua” (Golden Retriever) and “Kenzie” (Golden puppy – yes I know!) the newest member of the family after Kody, my beloved Border Collie passed away in September 2012.  We have also adopted two cats, “Elmo” (a grumpy Persian who is always in search for goodies on the counter) and “Kali” (a petite Calico who demands endless massages and is the dogs’ pack leader). I am also a volunteer dog trainer with “Ocean Dog Rescue”.

As you can see, dealing with animals is already part of my daily routine.  Rest assured, your dogs will be in good hands.

I look forward to meeting all of you and continuing the Paws to Play philosophy, “Where dogs learn the fun way”.
